GLIC Announcement

Greetings Sensei and Iai Community!

Hope this finds you well and having a fantastic week. The Great Lakes Iaido Coalition (GLIC) and Susan Sekreta Sensei are happy to announce the GLIC 2024 Fall Seminar/Shinsa (GFSS) on Friday October 25th and Saturday the 26th. We welcome and invite you and your Dojo to come and share in the Budo fellowship and Iaido training! Please spread the word and forward this "Save the Date" to your Iai affiliates and friends.

Date:

Friday and Saturday, October 25th & 26th

Times:

9:00am Doors Open ; 4:30p Seminar Ends (Both Days)

Open to:

All FIK Kyu and Dan ranks (AUSKF, CFK) 

(See note below) 

Grading:

AEUSKF Shinsa (Grading) up to Shodan (1-Dan)

Location:

Pieters Family Life Center, Rochester, NY

NOTE: 

• It is highly encouraged to have MuKyu (No rank) participants have basic Iai Kihon skills, basic execution of ZNKR Iai Reiho, and be able to do the first 6 ZNKR Iai Kata. 

• A Zekken (Nafuda or nametag) with your Dojo Name and your last name in Kanji/Katakana as well as in Romaji (Roman characters) is highly recommended.

• We are currently working on a Kodansha (Advanced) event on Sunday, 10/27, TBA.

Health and Safety:

As things normalize in the POST-COVID era the following safety protocols are being followed:

• Vaccinated individuals will be able to participate (Vaccinated = 2-3 does of Pfizer/Moderna or 2 does of Johnson & Johnson)

• Masks are optional to be worn during the Seminar

• Recently there has been an upswing in COVID cases, safety protocols are subject to change
